The Leelanau County Road Commission provides many services to the citizen of Leelanau County and to the motoring public by maintaining the county's public road system, which includes road right of ways.  Besides snowplowing, these activites include from dust control, seal coating existing roads, surface and shoulder maintenance, tree removal, grass mowing, guardrails, spring street sweeping, pavement painting, and traffic sign maintenance.  As required by state law, spreadsheets summarizing annual routine maintenance costs for local and primary roads (numbered roads)  have been sent to all Leelanau County township offices and are available for public review.  Worksheets summarizing "heavy maintenance" paving projects for this past year were also included.
