The Planning and Community Development office has the exclusive authority to assign addresses and road names. To apply for an address, you must complete an address application and return it along with the appropriate fee, to the Planning office. Address numbers will not be assigned or released until the fee is paid. The Inspections Department needs written verification from the Planning office before issuing a permit. Please note, all addresses must be visible from the road, to traffic coming from either direction. Address signs meeting this requirement can be obtained and installed from the Knights of Columbus. To order an address sign, please contact Brad Saxton, at 231-271-3324. Signs can be ordered to be installed, or do-it-yourself kit. Signs and installation are free for those aged 60 and up.
