Lake Michigan Beach Park is located west of the downtown area. The beach and park is a public park. It has a pavillon that is available on a first come first serve basis. We also have one of the newest working lighthouse on the Great Lakes (see more below).
This sign is dedicated to the beach for the historical site of the once operated Empire Lumber Company. There are remnants of other historical landmarks down at the beach. Next time your in Empire stop by the beach to see for yourself. Also while in Empire Check out our musuem.
Empire Bluff Hiking Trail - This popular hike leads to the Empire Bluff Overlook which rises 400 feet above Lake Michigan. South Bar Lake and Sleeping Bear Dunes are a part of this spectacular vista. Photo by Grace Dickinson.
