Matthew Ansorge Top

Matt began working for Leelanau County in November 2006.  He is a native of the Grand Traverse area, having attended Traverse City Senior High School.  Matt also graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology.  He has received First Aid/First Response training, is EMD-Q certified (Quality Assurance for Medical Call Dispatching), as well as a certified Communications Training Officer (CTO).

Ronda joined the Leelanau County Dispatch Team in search of stable employment with a technical twist!  “It was the awesome technology of the Computer Aided Dispatch system, which motivated me to apply”. She also likes the satisfaction of being a part of serving the community. In addition, Ronda finds that the teamwork approach really helps to diminish the degree of stress that accompanies the job. Ronda is CPR, AED & EMD certified.  She holds the following accreditations:  E-Team trainer; Critical Incident Training and Hostage Negotiation for Dispatch.  Ronda is also a FEMA,  Certified Training Officer.

Rhonda Garvin Top

Rhonda joined the Leelanau County Office of Emergency Management / 9-1-1 team in April 2008.  She is a graduate of Escanaba Senior High School who furthered her education with business classes from Bay De Noc Community College.  She then obtained a degree in the travel field.  Rhonda also brings with her several years experience in the medical profession. 

Rhonda loves a challenge, and immediately after being hired with Leelanau County, she pursued her Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) and CPR certifications.  She enjoys helping people in need.  We are very happy to have Rhonda as a part of the 9-1-1 Dispatch team.

Roger joined the Leelanau County Office of Emergency Management/9-1-1 team in November of 2007.  He has received First Aid and First Response training, Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) with Honors, E-Team, as well as Incident Command System 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 & 800 courses.  He continues to further his education and update his skills. 

 

Roger sees being a dispatcher as “an opportunity to lead a life with a purpose”. We are very fortunate to have such a positive, caring and motivated individual as a part of the Leelanau County 9-1-1 team. 

Sharon Hill Top
 Sharon Hill

After 20 years experience with the Leelanau County Sheriff's Office, Sharon made the career move to join the Office of Emergency Management/9-1-1 Dispatch Team. Sharon says that, "This career provides a feeling of accomplishment and the satisfaction of knowing you are there to help others.  She believes that the unpredictable nature of the telephone calls is precisely what keeps the job stimulating and challenging. 

Sharon is CPR, First Aid, EMD, AED, and LEIN certified.  She is also a LEIN TAC Officer.

Christine began her new career as a Leelanau County Dispatcher on July 7, 2007.  She is EMD certified, has completed a weeklong dispatching course and is CPR certified.  She enjoys her co-workers and helping the residents and visitors of Leelanau County. 

 

Christine brings to us a great personality with a strong compassion for helping people, having been a certified Nursing Assistant.  She has two children who keep her very busy. In her free time Christine likes to read.   

 

We are very fortunate to have Christine as a part of the Leelanau County Emergency Management / 9-1-1 team!    

Jan McCurties Top
A 14-year veteran of the profession, Jan has spent the last 5 years working for Leelanau County Dispatch.  When questioned why she chose to be a dispatcher, she replied, "I enjoy the camaraderie, the staff and working as a part of the team.  Dispatching gives me an opportunity to serve the residents and guests of Leelanau County to the best of my ability."  Jan is certified in CPR, First Aid, Emergency Medical Dispatch, AED, and Fire Dispatch.  Jan has a B.S. degree in Criminal Justice.  (No Photo is available.)
Amanda Perry Top
Amanda Perry

Amanda moved from Virginia to become a member of our team in September, 2004. Her experience includes 15 years in the field of medicine and a 5-year stint as a volunteer medic. "My job is to be the 'calm in the caller's storm' and help them through their emergency until physical help arrives."  She takes her responsibility to Police, Fire and EMS Personnel very seriously. "I want to take care of our guys by serving as their extra ears and eyes as they go out into the field." Amanda thrives under stressful situations, and finds the most challenging part of the job to be shifting from a ‘hands on' perspective to a verbal mode of helping. Amanda is CPR, EMD & AED certified; She is certified in Emergency Dispatch QA & assists with the medical quality assurance of dispatch.  Amanda recently became a certified Communications Training Officer (CTO). 

Jessica Plamondon Top
Jessica Plamondon

A few years ago, Jessica was searching for a way to enter the Leelanau County workforce when she saw an ad for dispatch. The rest was history, because soon after being hired she fell in love with her job and decided to stay on as a dispatcher permanently! "The people I work with are great and I can give back to the community". Though Jessica acknowledges it is sometimes a stressful job, for the most part she considers it fun. Jessica brings with her an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and is CPR, First Aid, EMD, AED, and EMF certified. She is also a certified LEIN TAC and LEIN trainer.

Scott Putnam Top
Scott Putnam Scott joined the Leelanau County 9-1-1 team as a full-time dispatcher on May 15, 2006.  He is a graduate of  Michigan State University, holding a BA in Criminal Justice.  Scott continues to update his skills and has received the following certifications:  Emergency Medical Dispatching (EMD) with Honors; CPR/First Aid; E-Team, and Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN).  When asked what Scott enjoys about his position the most, he responded that he really enjoys helping people in need.
