Q. How do I obtain a replacement tag for a lost dog license?

A. A replacement license is free as long as the dog's rabies is current.

Q. At what age should my dog be licensed?

A. Michigan law requires that all dogs four months of age or older with a valid rabies certificate, be licensed. New dogs should be licensed within a month after receiving the dog.

Q. We found a dog with a license -- what should we do?

A. Contact our office at 231-256-9838 and provide us with the license number. We will give you the owner's name and telephone number.

Q. What is the cost of dog licenses after February 28?


A. All dogs after February 28 are $15.00, unless they are a puppy, a new dog, or you have just moved to the area.
