A Brief History of Maple City
Settled largely because of the Homestead Act of 1862, farming, logging and other uses of the abundant natural resources prevailed. The unincorporated village of Maple City, originally called Peg Town, was founded in 1866 and is now the only densely settled area in Kasson Township.
