Joseph T. Hubbell, Prosecutor, is a Northern Michigan Native; born in Traverse City, Michigan and graduated from St. Francis High School. Joe began his law practice in Traverse City, Michigan, establishing a law firm with his father Stuart and his two brothers, Dan and Paul Hubbell. He continued with the firm practicing in the areas of criminal law, real estate, family law and immigration until 2004 when he was elected Leelanau County's Prosecuting Attorney.
Education:
1981, Catholic University in Quito, Ecuador where he earned his proficiency in the Spanish language. 1988, Marquette University Law School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Since elected prosecutor, Joe has successfully prosecuted Leelanau County's first double murder. He has appeared in all courts, including the Michigan Court of Appeals, representing the county's interest. In addition, Joe has provided the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners with legal opinions regarding various county ordinances and has advised other Leelanau County departments concerning legal questions. Joe has appeared in Circuit Court to represent the Leelanau County Road Commission and Drain Commissioner.
Joe resides in Centerville Township with his wife Amy, and their three children; Emily, Timothy, and Grace. |

Douglas J. Donaldson, Leelanau County Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney.
Doug began his career in law in 1984 working as an assistant prosecutor for Grand Traverse County and worked in that capacity until 1989. Since then he has engaged in civil and criminal litigation representing insurance companies, plaintiffs in personal injury matters, criminal defendants, and the prosecution. Doug is a member of the firm of Donaldson & Bieganowski which engages in municipal law and general practice. From 1986-1996 he taught Business Law, Criminal Law and Criminal Procedures at Northernwestern Michigan College in Traverse City, Michigan.

Kathryn M. Dawkins Family Support Coordinator BS Grand Valley State University Assignment: Paternity and Child Support/WebSite Kathy has been the Family Support Coordinator since November 1998. She was also an investigator of domestic violence cases for the Leelanau County Prosecutor’ Office. Prior to joining the Leelanau County Prosecutor’s Office, she worked as a paralegal and police officer in Alaska; an investigator for the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, Secretary of State, and the Kent County Prosecutor’s Office; and a police officer with Kalamazoo City. Kathy has received specialized training from the Prosecutor's Association of Michigan regarding paternity and support. In her spare time, Kathy likes to play on the Internet, knit, read, jog, and be with her family and friends. |
