Leelanau at a Glance The Leelanau School is a 9-12 grade coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school focused on attracting average to above average students interested in pursuing one of three areas of specialization: College Preparatory Program College Preparatory Program with specialization in Environmental Studies (Life Sciences, Ecology and Physical Sciences) College Preparatory Program with specialization in Writing Leelanau is situated in the heart of the 73,000-acre Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore on the shores of Lake Michigan and the banks of the Crystal River. This spectacular setting is integrated into all aspects of our curriculum and personal development. Leelanau prides itself on a 10:1 student teacher ratio where individualized attention is guaranteed. We recognize that students learn in various manners, whether by verbal, written, or hands-on approaches. In addition to our small classes, the majority of our faculty live on campus. If a student needs assistance with homework or a project, tutorials are available five nights per week.
