Leelanau County Information Systems

Leelanau County Information Technology Director Ron Plamondon is responsible for the development and maintenance of all of Leelanau County's Information Management Systems. This includes systems for Property Valuation & Tax Processing, Deed Recording, 911 Emergency Services, Law Enforcement Records and Jail Management, GIS, Fund Accounting, Building Inspections, the Leelanau Government Community Web Services, and more. Other computerized systems now include the computerized heating and cooling as well as security systems at the new LEC.

In all there are over 100 workstations and over 14 servers handling the county data processing needs. With the new Government Center in the planning stage, more changes are forseen in the near future.

Systems at the new LEC are "state of the art" systems with most critical services available 24-7 even during power outages. Communication links to Grand Traverse County for District and Circuit Court records as well as links to the State of Michigan system provide access to statewide information for the Prosecuting Attorney's Office as well as LEIN information for Law Enforcement.

Leelanau Governmental Center

Systems at the new Governmental Center will be directly tied to the systems at the Law Enforcement Center. This will provide for the most efficient use of county systems. Technology already in place at the LEC will be utilized to provide state of the art technology while reducing the cost of the new technology.
